Seven new exhibitions focusing on Asia will open around the country in January 2004 supported by a $7 million grant from the Freeman Foundation. The Association of Children's Museums facilitated the selection of the following sites and collaborations:

* Austin Children's Museum, "Song of Korea"
* The Children's Museum, Boston and Capital Children's Museum, "Five Friends from Japan"
* Brooklyn Children's Museum (exhibit opens at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden), "Japan and Nature: Spirits of the Seasons"
* The Children's Museum of Houston, "Dragons and Fairies: Exploring Vietnam through Folktales"
* Madison Children's Museum, "Hmong at Heart"
* Children's Museum of Manhattan, "Monkey King: A Journey to China"
* Minnesota Children's Museum and The Children's Museum, Seattle, "Jump to Japan: Discovering Culture through Popular Art"

Each exhibition will travel to 10 other children's museums at six month intervals.
