For those in Virginia, VCAS seeks to provide resources within the Commonwealth. We have individuals active in the organization with interests in East, Southeast and South Asia. The annual conference of VCAS is Sat 7 Feb at W&L in Lexington, VA with an afternoon keynote on North Korea / Northeast Asia security featuring senior South Korean and Japanese diplomats. The morning will have in parallel a hands-on training session on Japanese- and Chinese-language research tools, run by two librarians from Duke, and a talk / tour of the renowned Chinese Export Porcelein collection at W&L's Reeves Center.
