This free website allows users the opportunity to virtually roam through a north Indian village. While doing so, students may explore buildings, investigate themes, and interview residents. Users have the opportunity to examine the intersection of the social, economic, and religious dimensions of residents' lives. "A Virtual Village"

Dear Peter --

I have just found your "A Virtual Village" through the AsiaintheCurriculum site. And it's great! Thank you for making it available for the rest of to use with our students.

I went to your presentation at the AAR and I loved your village then too.

I have done most of my work in Maharashtra, but of course your village looks like "home" to me too.

I am almost ready to post a website with lots of photos of Ajanta and Ellora highlighting Buddhist, Jain, and Sufi sites as well as Hindu. (from work done January 2003) I'm still tinkering with some technical details -- but I wasn't sure how I was going to share these photos of caves and temples that I havn't found on other web sites. I hadn't thought of sharing it through this forum -- but now I will.

Thanks so much for your work -- and for sharing it --
