Available for free download (http://www.cgp.org/index.php?option=article&task=default&articleid=253), this collection of lesson plans builds upon The Japan Forum 's instructional kit entitled Deai: The Lives of Seven Japanese High School Students , which uses firsthand photo essays to introduce the lives of seven diverse Japanese students. The new lesson plans aim to develop a range of data analysis, thinking, and geographic skills and to enhance students' understanding of Japan by placing the lives of the Japanese students in the larger context of contemporary Japanese society and culture.
